Ingle International CEO Robin Ingle had some advice for March Breakers and travel health coverage: Don’t be afraid to ask questions—you just might be covered.
Robin recently lent his expertise to a Yahoo Finance article March Breakers may have more insurance coverage than they think. As the title of the article suggests, many Canadians—through their employee benefits, credit card, or CAA membership, even—actually have travel insurance and they may not realize it.
Although many people assume they have to purchase travel insurance to cover an upcoming trip, they should do some research and find out if they are already covered.
Robin puts it this way: “A lot of people don’t want to ask questions. They don’t want to look stupid. Don’t assume, ask.”
- You may already have travel coverage and not even realize it. Check your employee benefits and credit card to see what, if any, coverage you have.
- Always read your policy. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call the provider for clarification.
- Always consider purchasing additional coverage. Even if you are covered by your employee benefits, credit card, or other, you likely won’t be covered for any costs stemming from high-risk activities.
