Canadian snowbirds in the Phoenix area (Sun City, Mesa, Apache Junction, Gilbert) have a great opportunity to meet with experts and discuss how to get healthy and stay that way in an event sponsored specifically for them by the world renowned Mayo Clinic, Monday, February 25, starting at 4:30 p.m.
We urge you to take advantage of this as you can actually have an opportunity to talk to medical specialists about issues that concern your everyday life. When was the last time you talked to your doctor for more than five minutes?
I have done several seminars in the same area and the turnout has always been fantastic, the questions and answers to the point, and the value to your health immeasurable.
Titled “An Evening With Mayo Clinic—Keeping You and Fellow Canadian Snowbirds Healthy” the seminar will be held at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, east end of the hospital, Mayo Clinic Education Center, 5777 E. Mayo Blvd. Click on our link for map instructions, and because space is limited and a good turnout is expected, the organizers are asking you to register online, and to bring any guests you think might be interested with you. You can also register at the door, but we advise doing it online to be sure of getting a space.
The speakers will be Dr. Robert R. Orford, preventive, occupational and aerospace medicine, speaking on “Tips for Living a Long and Healthy Life”; and Dr. Mark J. Spangehl, orthopedic surgery, speaking about “Knees, Hips, Joints, Keeping Your Body Well Oiled.”
Admission is free. Hors d’oeuvres and registration will begin at 4:30 p.m. and speakers will take to their podiums at 5 through to 6:30 p.m.
